Father's Day
Although we had a houseful of people here on Father's Day morning, Ava was determined to give her Daddy a special moment first thing in the morning. We woke up before him, ate breakfast and made him yummy cinnamon rolls in the oven. We cleaned the kitchen and brought out his cards and presents.
Ava sneaked in to our room to see if he was awake and sure enough, he was lounging in bed watching ESPN. So she told him to wait five minutes and then she would come back and get him. In those five minutes, I kid you not, she ordered all of the people in the house (me, Lia, Gramma, Aunt Ronni Sue, Amanda, Gabriel and Autumn) to sit in the office and wait for him. Apparently Father's Day is a surprise in her mind. She told us to wait there while she went to get Daddy. So as I'm getting my camera and she's running towards our bedroom she looks back and yells "shut the lights!" as if she was directing the whole thing. And I guess she was. Daddy came out and we yelled "Surprise!"
And then he got a nice Father's Day hug from his girls.
