70%

First thing in the morning I called the orthopeodic doctor that our pediatricion referred us to. They were so nice and fit us in right away. Anthony had to work this time, so I braved it and took both girls. Packed with extra snacks and toys we drove down to Ormond. I didn't know what to expect, how long we would have to be there, or how in the world they would put a cast on my little one-year-old. This office was so sweet. I loved the office staff. We walked in and the adorable little old lady behind the counter had paperwork ready for me and told me she put Finding Nemo on the tv because she knew we were coming. As I was filling out paperwork, Lia's pain medication started wearing off, so she began to scream. I busted out the nursing cover and was able to comfort her enough to finish filling out our information. I gave her another dose of tylenol and a graham cracker and it was smooth sailing from there. Lia perked up and Ava enjoyed some Nemo. Back in the exam room, the doctor said he wanted to take another x-ray of Lia's wrist so that he could see an updated image. This sweet little old lady from the front desk came back and held Ava on her lap so that I was able to help Lia during the x-ray. Thankfully he said that the bones have 70% of their original use, so it isn't ABSOLUTELY necessary to put a big old cast on her. So he gave us a removable splint and said it should be all healed in about 3 weeks. God is amazing. He made our bodies so smart that they can heal a broken bone - and even faster in children!

So here she is... before bath time.

This splint lets her use her fingers and she is so happy to be able to grab things with her right hand again.

***Later we decided to have a salad with our spaghetti dinner, so we went out to the garden to pick some lettuce. Look at this!

It looked like a beautiful salad in our bowls, but I'll admit it was a little bitter. oh well...

HOLY COW beautiful garden. man on man sarah...way to go! and most importantly what a relief that precious lia doesn't need a giant cast. way to go keeping it all together at the doctors appointment and helping both girls feel at ease. cant get over her little fingers poking out of the wrist guard. so glad she is healing so fast and can get back to playing hard. thinking about you guys. xoxo
