Memorial Day Weekend

A friend of mine found the perfect words to describe her 3-day weekend. "seems like we were able to do so much and yet still relax and unwind together" and that's exactly how it felt for us.
Saturday I spent my morning finishing up my school work for the week (only one more semester until I finish my Masters!), then we bee-bopped over to a graduation party (for Mercedes), and headed over to Mimi's pool to end the day.
Sunday was a day FULL of work around the house. Anthony and I have a standing joke that we always clean house (like REALLY clean house - big organizing projects) on major holidays. So we cleaned our plant shelves (which is not fun), AC returns, completely organized the garage, loaded the back of the van with items to drop off at Goodwill, rotated Lia's clothes (she's officially 18 months now), and did about 27 loads of laundry in between. Not only did we clean and dry the laundry, we also put EVERY bit of it away. And at the end of the day, when we peeked in on the garden we found this

I think some zucchini pie, zucchini bread, and roasted zucchini will be making an appearance soon.

Then over to her house to visit with Aunt Lynn..

But of course we had to leave in time for a typical Memorial day cookout at Mike's house. Fun in the pool for hours...
