RSV

I didn't mention this earlier, because I wanted Ava's first day of preschool post to be all about her, but on that first day of preschool Lia had to go to the dr. After the smooth transition of dropping Ava off at school, I came home to hear my little Lia wheezing and coughing. Now, she'd been coughing since the Friday before (and had a slight fever a couple of days in a row), so I had called the dr and we assumed it was the same thing Ava had last week. So we started her on the same antibiotic and went about our weekend. Monday morning, the coughing was worse and the wheezing is what got me worried. So I took her in to see the dr and they confirmed that she has RSV - a respiratory virus. Apparently this is common in preemies - something to do with the lung development. We used a nebulizer to give her a breathing treatment in the dr office and was told that I would be using this at home as well.
And here we are...a few days later and she is already SO much better. We think she was at the peak of the virus when we were at the dr and thankfully she was never as bad as some of the young babies who have to be hospitalized because they aren't getting enough oxygen. Anthony is so supportive, as any good Daddy would be, whenever anything is wrong with the girls. It's like he turns into a protective bear who will do anything to help his little cubs feel better.
Ava never had any issues with being sick - she was three before ever taking any kind of antibiotic. This is all new to us, but we're taking it in stride and appreciating that we are all still as healthy as we are, because it could be a lot worse.

(I can never get a picture of her actually using this thing...)

Poor little Lia!! I remember that breathing thing from when Samantha had to do it on our girls weekend. I think Conor would FREAK if I tried to hold that over his face for an extended period of time. Glad to hear she is feeling better!
