Happy Easter

I woke up Easter morning with both girls next to me. Ava opened her eyes and glanced at me, so I whispered, "Today's Easter!" and she said matter-of-factly, "I know". (this is an automatic response she says lately). And I asked, "Do you know why we celebrate Easter?" and she replied with "...because Jesus was dead and he died and then he was gone and he was ALIVE"

ahhh... I love how much she is learning at school

The bunnies, and eggs, and pastels, and candy (oh, just the slightest bit) are fun and festive, but I also want my girls to know the real reasons we celebrate.

So we went about our normal morning of getting ready for church, only this time we made sure we were all ready about 20 minutes before we had to leave. That's when we told Ava there was a surprise for her and Lia.



And it was fun to watch their excitement.


We opened toys and ate a few chocolate candies and I tried to get a good shot of me and the girls.


Then we headed to church. And since everyone looked so nice (and coincidentally color coordinated) we snapped a few pictures.


But this is my favorite.

Even though Lia was still half asleep. The girls, with their mommy, two grammas, and one great gramma. Love love love our life.
