Let the Birthday Celebration begin...
This week Anthony turns 30 and we're celebrating the entire week. To kick things off we went over to Mimi's house for dinner on Sunday afternoon. A typical Italian dinner with delicious ravioli, Mimi's sauce, meatballs, sausage, chicken cutlets, salad, and bread. Of course we were so busy eating and talking that I forgot to take pictures of all the food. Instead I snapped the almost empty bowl of ravioli (I could eat more just looking at this...)
And we're in the middle of March Madness now, so most conversations and television channels are focused on the latest game and how his brackets are doing. Think that's what they were talking about in this serious-looking conversation?
There was karaoke...

...even after bathtime and pajamas.
We ran up and down hills on the golf course out back...
and I just couldn't take my eyes away from the camera lens.

And even though his eyes are closed, this is one of my favorites because of the smile on his face and the look on hers.
Once the ice-cream cake had thawed we put on our party hats and lit the candles. This is the best family shot we got all night, but that's okay. Typical eyes-closed, hat-pulling, laughing shot.

And I can't end this post without mentioning how sweet these little girls have been lately. Their playtime is a perfect mix of independence and togetherness...

And sometimes when the neck hugs are a little too tight, the little sister protests. When Mommy says "too tight!" the big sister's response is "but I love her".
I'll try to make one more post before we leave for his birthday cruise on Thursday morning.

Let me just say, you are getting quite fantastic with the camera! I mean, the series of Ava with the mic and then the golf course shots, AMAZING! Your girls will so appreciate these when they are older. And the one of you and Lia, you are just stunning!
I love the too tight sister hug because Ava just loves her little sis so much she has to SQUEEZE her! Makes me laugh out loud! Poor little Lia... I think my little sister felt her pain at one point or another during our childhoood!
Happy 30th Birthday Anthony. Can't wait to see pics from your cruise!
P.S. the picture of Ava on the golf course in the green polo dress should be sent in to Ralph Lauren for a Polo ad campaign (right up there with your engagment photo to be sent to american eagle!)
i thought the same thing as u nicole...that picture of ava on the golf course by herself needs to be seriously framed and hung up!! she looks so beautiful and the light catches her face. oh i love it. you are a camera wizard!! glad you are having fun celebrating anthony's big 3-0. how long do you go on the cruise for? i hope you guys have a blast. miss you very much!! love the last pic the best of the sister hugs. cute!!
