Sleeping and Driving

We have come to the end of the first week of night weaning. Up through last weekend, Lia has been waking up to nurse at least once or twice every single night. I finally decided it was time to encourage her to sleep through the night. (about time) So we began our night weaning. We've had a couple of rough nights and a couple of GREAT nights. Monday night and last night she slept 10 or 11 hours straight! It is an incredible feeling to wake up in the morning and know that you've slept all night. Here she is, on Tuesday morning, happy as a clam in her crib.

My little navigator. Ava and I watch the weather on the news quite a bit. So whenever she sees a map she associates it with the weather. The other day, on the way to the pediatrician, she spotted our atlas that was in the pocket of the seat in front of her. She asked me for the "weather book" and I gave it to her. Then she gave me directions the whole way to the doctor's office - telling me where to turn. She kept mumbling something-something-florida-something-something...

ps - I did not take this picture while driving. We were stopped at a red light. :)

Yesterday was grocery shopping day. Usually, I let Ava sit in the cart and I carry Lia either in the Baby Bjorn, or the Peanut Shell sling, while I shop. Yesterday Gramma happened to meet us at Publix on her lunch hour. So she completely sanitized the cart (which we always do) and we let Lia try sitting next to Ava. She was SO excited. She kept kicking her legs and turning the steering wheel back and forth. The pictures don't even do it justice - she was soooo cute.

Can you tell how Lia is trying to sit as far forward as possible? so funny...

I can't believe how grown up Lia is looking. Weren't we just finding out we were pregnant like yesterday? We have to get together ASAP before these kids are going off to college!
