State of Emergency

It is official. After a week of non stop rain, our governor declared Flagler county, as well as others in our area, in a state of emergency. There has been so much rain that the flooding has caused major damage. Lucky for us, the worst thing that happened at our house was some standing water in our back yard and an over-watered garden. The girls and I stayed in the entire week. When I say stayed in, I mean we couldn't even go on our back lanai because it was flooded! We tried to pass the time doing some creative things. We worked on more potty training with Ava, built a wormery for all the worms that kept creeping into our garage, made jewelery out of string and pasta, watched a few movies, baked cookies, did puzzles, and started planning Ava's birthday party. Here are some photos from last week.

We are so proud of our wormery. Rocks, sand, soil, and banana peels make a nice home for worms. Both Ava and I were too nervous to actually pick up the worms, so we waited for Daddy to get home for that part. :) They will be transplanted to our garden as soon as the rain stops.

Bring on the rain, she's ready!

I love those rainy day activities! I can't believe your lanai! Poor green bumbo!
